Arno Yeramyan is a final-year Master of Social Work (Qualifying) student at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), currently completing his second professional placement with Inner You Development.

Arno brings a diverse academic and professional background to his developing social work practice, with qualifications in Social Sciences and International Relations alongside his postgraduate social work studies. His previous experience spans adult and youth housing and homelessness services, community-based support, and international advocacy and capacity-building work.

Prior to joining Inner You Development, Arno worked within adult and youth housing programs with St Vincent de Paul and Brisbane Youth Service. He also gained international experience with ILGA-Europe, contributing to mental health and capacity-building initiatives.

At Inner You Development, Arno participates in supervised individual and group therapeutic work. His developing practice incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)-informed approaches, positive psychology, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and strengths-based and person-centred principles.

Arno's approach is grounded in the belief that each person is the expert in their own life. He sees his role as walking alongside clients, providing therapeutic frameworks, support, and opportunities for reflection while remaining guided by each person's individual goals, values, strengths, and lived experience.

Arno has a particular interest in supporting young adults navigating challenges associated with school, family relationships, employment, identity, and major life transitions. His broader areas of professional interest include:

  • Youth mental health
  • Veteran mental health
  • Anxiety and interpersonal relationship difficulties
  • Substance use and AOD support
  • Housing and homelessness
  • LGBTQIA+ mental health and inclusive practice
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Mindfulness and mindfulness-based stress reduction
  • Emotional regulation and psychological wellbeing
