Kate Alcorn is an Occupational Therapist or “OT” who is registered to provide Medicare services (eg. Mental Health Care Plans; Chronic Disease Management Plans). With decades of experience spanning many areas, Kate now sees DVA card holders and public and private clients in their homes or via Telehealth/office appointments. Kate also provides work-integrated learning and team-building, clinical supervision and professional mentoring, as well as consultancy and research.
OTs apply medical and psychological knowledge to improve how people function individually and in groups. An occupational ‘lens’ helps clarify what a person wants/needs to do when overcoming limitations due to their health. Typically, OTs alter the way the activity is performed, the context in which it occurs, or both! OTs focus on a person’s strengths when evaluating their abilities, goals & environments. Kate currently bulk bills clients. Waiting time for an appointment is minimal and she donates 5% of her income to a charity for those affected by war.
